Katherine Ward, Chief Executive
Katherine Ward is the Chief Executive of UnitedHealth UK. She is responsible for the strategic leadership of the organisation and ensuring that we establish ourselves as a trusted partner to the NHS. Katherine began her career as an NHS Management trainee. Fifteen years later, in 2006, she left the post of Director of Operations and Director of Strategic Commissioning in a PCT in Bristol to join UnitedHealth UK as Director of Commissioning and Consulting.

Tony Sampson, Director of External Affairs
As Director of External Affairs, Tony is responsible for branding and marketing, corporate communications, and develop strategies to meet the needs of government health policy. Tony joined us from the Department of Health where he worked in several different capacities, including Private Secretary to the Health Minister, and on several areas of health policy, including prescribing, nGMS contract, PFI and Agenda for Change. Additionally, Tony has also worked as policy adviser at No 10 Downing Street.

Tony Weir, Chief Financial Officer
Tony is Chief Financial Officer of UnitedHealth UK and Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Ingenix International (UnitedHealth UK’s parent company). Tony is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and has more than 20 years of healthcare experience. Prior to joining UnitedHealth UK, Tony was the Chief Financial Officer for the UK-listed drug discovery company, Vernalis plc. He has a strong track record of financial control and reporting with a particular emphasis on cash and project management.

 Sandra Harris, Human Capital Partner
Sandra’s role as Human Capital Partner involves ensuring we have the right people with the right skills and experience to support the success of the business. Prior to joining UnitedHealth UK, Sandra spent 20 years working as HR Business Partner for Vodafone, a global company with over 80,000 people worldwide.

 Dr Luke Twelves, Director of Clinical Commissioning
Luke is UnitedHealth’s UK Director of Clinical Commissioning as well as a practicing GP at a large health centre in Cambridgeshire. He has extensive clinical experience and is the founder of Hunts Comm, a Practice Based Commissioning consortium covering 23 practices and 150,000 patients.
